Haiti Verte Foundation, Inc. is a not-for -profit organization committed to sustainable forestry in Haiti. The organization hopes to help improving the living conditions in Haiti by supporting and implementing environmental projects such as delivering potable water to deprived communities, providing sanitary means and techniques to dispose of wastewater, making practical use of alternative energy, solar energy in particular, and of course reforestation of sensible areas as an attempt to restore the natural equilibrium.

Assessing the needs and the urgency in Port-au-Prince in the aftermath of this unique disaster, Haiti Verte Foundation is seeking for assistance to work in following 2 projects:

1.    The Portable  Solar Lighting Distribution Project

We want to distribute portable solar lightings to needed families who are living in the dark. It is the most affordable energy generation product.

OBJECTIVE

–      Cheaper use of reliable power

–      Eliminates the use of wood & kerosene

–      No run time costs

The Model features:

3 LED Lights - Approx 2W each - Life of 5 years

e) Grid Charger - Dual charging facility (charge from 12V AC Mains and using Solar energy) 

2 – The Safe Drinking Water Project

Safe drinking water remains among the most urgent necessities in Haiti.  We are seeking to bring water purification systems that have the capabilities of producing clean and safe drinking water from almost any creek, stream, pond, well, lake or most any fresh water source at a volume production rate of approximately 24 gallons (88 liters) per minute where water purification is impractical or unattainable.

These solar powered mobile water treatment systems are the ideal choices for Emergency Relief Operations as they can be set up at a disaster location in under 1 hour and start producing clean and safe drinking water to the local population once operational. This system is completely automatic and requires minimum man power once it is operational.

We are seeking assistance to get these projects going.
